Howard's to Alhambra?

I can't tell by this short blurb if the Howard's coming to Alhambra is in addition to or as a substitute for their current store, on Valley (1/2 block east of Del Mar) in San Gabriel. Given how close these locations are to each other, I suspect this means Howard's is closing their San Gabriel store.

Judy Chu Running in the West

With redistricting shifting district boundaries, Judy Chu has announced she will run for the new West San Gabriel Valley district that will include Rosemead, San Gabriel, Temple City, San Marino, Monterey Park, Arcadia, Sierra Madre, and parts of South Pasadena and Pasadena. It's the most Asian-leaning of the area congressional districts, and would include her home in Monterey Park.

I saw "Despicable Me" on the big screen for $1 on Tuesday. Had to share the theater with a bunch of noisy kids, of course. But what do you expect for a buck?

Rosemead City Council Members Have Most Expensive Health Care Benefits

Good job of serious investigative reporting by the Los Angeles Times has produced a chart showing health care costs imposed on taxpayers by elected officials. Their findings show that Rosemead city council members have the most generous health benefits of any of our neighboring cities:
