STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

To maintain the hospital facilities in a clean, sanitary, orderly and attractive condition. Performs daily cleaning tasks in patient rooms, wards, nurse stations, lounges, laboratories, bathrooms, offices, and any other assigned areas, in accordance with standard procedures of the Environmental Services Department, and in accordance with the facility's objectives. Patient care is of the highest concern.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Transport trash and infectious waste from utility room to designated areas.
2. Identifies correct containers to dispose of refuse.
3. Observes infection control standards (i.e. as per policy and procedure manual -- observes health and safety rules).
4. Wears appropriate attire to handle infectious situations (i.e. cleaning patients' rooms daily).
5. Periodic cleaning of walls, lights, windows, etc.
6. Prepares wall-washing equipment by using correct chemical substances for designated project.
7. Uses proper dry or wet procedures (i.e. correct chemicals used in specific project).
8. Vacuuming patients' rooms and designated areas.
9. Uses appropriate vacuum cleaner machine.
10. Clean equipment when needed.
11. Clean vacuum cleaners, floor machines as needed.
12. Moves furniture when necessary.
13. Maintains restroom supplies for patient rooms, public restrooms, etc.
14. Empties all trash in assigned areas, including medical waste containers.
15. Make beds, as required.
16. Assist in cleaning of emergency spills.
17. If an emergency comes up, use chemical spill clean-up kit, spill tamer according to directions.
18. Observes and reports the need for repairs of equipment, furniture, buildings and fixtures.
19. Reports to the Environmental Services Supervisor or Lead Person any repairs needed on any broken equipment, building damage (i.e. doors, tile, floors, locks, and lights).
20. Stocks Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) boxes with insulation gear when needed.
21. Performs other duties as assigned by management.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED

One (1) year experience in a hospital healthcare environment preferred. Must be able to follow written directions and follow through with verbal commands. Must have knowledge of dilution of cleaning chemicals and how to use them correctly.

We are current looking for Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Physical Therapists who want to help children Achieve Beyond in the East LA area. As a Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, or Physical Therapist you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in the provision of evaluations, assessments and therapy services to children from infancy through age eighteen and their families within a center-based or community environment. Knowledge of typical and atypical development, sensory integration, and intervention strategies specific to this age group as well as the ability to work collaboratively with families and team members is required


Job Requirements
-Must be interested in working with the Early Intervention population (birth- 3)
-Must hold a California state license for your discipline
-Bilingual Spanish a plus but not required
